The work was installed approximately 10 kilometres from Block 2 in the northern lonian Sea, where offshore hydrocarbon drilling is planned. Rather than serving as a backdrop, the landscape becomes an integral part of the installation, unfolding within the very environment facing a possible transformation.

Inspired by prehistoric cave paintings, two hunter figures confront the silhouette of a contemporary offshore oil platform. The installation brings together two moments separated by thousands of years, placing humanity’s earliest struggle for survival alongside today’s industrial extraction of natural resources.

Drawing on the visual language of archaeology and mythology, The Hunt uses the distant past as a way of reflecting on the present. The figures appear like archaeological remnants of a civilisation that seems to belong both to history and to an imagined future. As with all temporary land art interventions, the work ultimately disappears from the site, leaving behind only its images and the public conversations it generates.
