这一根由整木做成的5.6米长长椅来头可不小。首先，其位置得天独厚，处于意大利南蒂罗尔与白云石那壮美的景色中，由当地旅游局委托MESSNER建筑事务所同雕塑家弗朗茨·梅斯纳尔共同创造；再次，其材料很有历史，来自当地护林员伐下来了这颗已经腐烂的大松树，当时松树的寿命已经超过200岁，直径约一米。

创作出的整木长凳被“扭转”了45度，“扭转”产生的双曲抛物线面先由电锯切出初略的形状，然后再用手工刨顺，最终成为一个40厘米见方，5.6米长的扭转长凳儿。

这项工作希望人们能够意识到在这自然环境中，这样巨大树木的年龄，以及他们成长所需的时间。

Local tourist office of Renon, a region in South Tyrol with a magnificent view on the Dolomites, commissioned MESSNER Architects and sculptor Franz Messner to create a seating bench next to a panoramic promenade at 2.000m.a.s.l..
Starting point for the bench was an enormous pine tree with a diameter of about 90-100cm, 200 plus years old and partly victim of decay, fell by local forest rangers.

By “twisting” a square-cut wooden trunk (in this case by 45°), the diameter of the former round timber suddendly gets tangible. While the rough shape was cut out with a chainsaw, following the principles of hyperbolic paraboloids, which allow to create doubly ruled surfaces using straight lines (=chainsaw-blade), the surface was hand-planed, a traditional technique to make wood last on open air.
The trunk measures 40 x 40cm in section and has an overall length of 5,50m.
The work wants people being aware of the age of this enormous tree and how long it takes plants to grow in general.
