尊重场地，联动运营
Respect the site, operate in a coordinated manner

在“乡村振兴”炙手可热的当下，这是一个典型又非典型的乡村振兴项目。典型在于其探索了一个公益基金会主导，后期运营团队全程介入，政府支持村民参与，尊重自然和土地的乡村振兴模式。非典型在于这一探索需要极大的耐心和不懈的坚持，并非一蹴而就。这样的探索在一切都要立见疗效的大环境下难能可贵。

At a time when “rural revitalization” is such a hot topic, this is a typical and atypical rural revitalization project. It’s a typical example to explore a rural revitalization model led by public welfare foundations, with participation of the operation team through whole process, government support and villagers’ participation, and respect for nature and land. Atypically, this exploration requires a great deal of patience and relentless persistence, and it doesn’t happen overnight. In an environment where everything needs immediate healing, this kind of exploration is invaluable.

北京以西300公里，乌兰察布兴和县，是距离北京最近的天然牧场。涝利海是这片牧场中的珍贵水源，每年候鸟迁徙的季节，大批的天鹅都会来此歇脚。但这里的草原很脆弱，裸露的大面积地表，全是碎岩石。正因如此，贫瘠的土地不能养活许多牛羊，大批牧民放弃草原，走进城镇务工，“贫困县”的牌子直到两年前才摘去。

300 kilometers west of Beijing, Xinghe County of Ulanqab is the closest natural pasture to Beijing. The Laoli Lake is a precious water source in this pasture. Every year during the migration season, a lot of swans come here to rest. But the grassland here is very fragile, and the large area of bare ground is full of broken rocks. Because of this, the barren land cannot support many cattle and sheep. A large number of herdsmen abandoned the grasslands and went to work in cities. The sign of “poor county” was not removed until two years ago.

初见场地
SITE IMPRESSION

2021年12月冬，零下20度，结冰的湖面，荒凉的原野，废弃的村庄，被湖边的大风吹到丧失知觉的我们惊叹于这天地苍茫的孤独，而这看似了无生机的大地下又蕴含着多少生命的力量，待到来年迸发生机。

In the winter of December 2021, minus 20 degrees, by the frozen lake, the desolate wilderness, and the abandoned village, we were blown unconscious by the strong wind and surprised by the loneliness between sky and land. Nevertheless, so much life force is contained in the earth, waiting to burst into vitality in the coming year.

星河下的兴和
XINGHE UNDER MILKY WAY

喝着暖暖的“苏台茄”（蒙古奶茶），从北京到兴和挂职的副县长向我们描述了他为涝利海描绘的蓝图。湖的南岸是民宿和乡建学院，北岸有成片的色叶景观林和露营地，人们可以沿着湖散步、骑行，一切都要越自然越好，让逃离城市的人们被自然治愈。他说，希望这里能变成可以吸引年轻人来的地方，进而能吸引兴和的年轻人们回到家乡，参与到家乡的振兴中来。最后，他说你们一定要夏天来涝利海，看看星河下的兴和。

Drinking the warm “Sutai eggplant” (Mongolian milk tea), the deputy county magistrate from Beijing to Xinghe described to us his blueprint for Laoli Lake. On the south bank of the lake there are homestay and rural construction colleges, and on the north bank there are patches of colorful leaf forests and campsites. People can walk and ride along the lake. Everything should be as natural as possible, so that people who escape from the city can be healed by nature. He said that he hopes this to become a place that can attract young people to come, and then attract young people from Xinghe to return home and participate in the revitalization of their hometown. In the end, he said that you must come to Laoli Lake in summer to see Xinghe under the Milky Way.

公益生态林
ECO-FOREST

不同于绿化基金会其他以防风固沙作用为主的公益生态林，我们选择了九种既适应当地气候又能形成秋季色叶观赏景观的乔木模拟自然混交林，为涝利海的生物多样性提供更多的可能性，也为民宿和营地孕育一个生态教育基地。

Different from other eco-forests of the Greening Foundation, which mainly focus on windbreak and sand fixation, we have selected nine species of trees that not only adapt to the local climate but also form an ornamental landscape with colored leaves in autumn, simulating natural mixed forests and providing biodiversity for the Laoli Lake. It also fosters an ecological education base for homestays and camps.

虽然因为疫情错过了2022年春季和秋季的种植季，在2023年春暖花开之际，林子终于在湖畔安了家。几场草原的大雨过后，大自然开始施展她的神力，树木长出了新叶，洒下的波斯菊种子开成了花海，林子里原本裸露的土地长满了狼尾草和各种不知名的野草。相信用不了多久，这片林子就会成为各种动物们在湖边栖息生活的家。

Although the spring and autumn planting seasons of 2022 were missed due to the epidemic, when the spring of 2023 bloomed, forest finally settled down by the lake. After a few heavy rains in the prairie, nature began to display her magical powers. The trees grew new leaves, and sprinkled cosmos seeds bloomed into a sea of flowers. The originally bare land in the forest was covered with pennisetum and various unknown species of weeds. We believe that it won’t be long before this forest becomes a home for various animals to inhabit and live by the lake.

我们将乔木修剪下来的枝条编成艺术装置，与湖对岸的灯塔遥相呼应。场地上清理出来的石块，被垒成纪念墙、座凳，铺成林间小路，围城树坑围堰……废弃的材料也可以用另一种方式成为场地的一部分。

We weave the pruned branches of trees into an art installation, echoing the lighthouse on the other side of the lake. The stones cleared from the site are piled up into memorial walls, benches, paved into forest paths, tree pits and cofferdams around the city… The discarded materials can also become part of the site in another way.

蜿蜒的木栈道带你从入口平台穿过花海，进入林子，来到湖边，眺望对岸，坐看云起日落。

The winding wooden boardwalk takes you from the entrance platform through the sea of flowers, into the forest, to the lake, overlooking the other side, and sit and watch the clouds to rise and set.

我们还为生态林设计了专属的logo，为每个树种做了说明标牌，为林间探索留下了小线索，这一切，都在静待更多的故事发生。

We also designed an exclusive logo for the ecological forest, made explanatory signs for each tree species, and left small clues for forest exploration. All of this is waiting for more stories to happen.

安之与羊
AND SHEEP

没有后续运营支撑的乡村振兴是不可持续的。湖北岸的安之与羊露营地是运营方的一个小小尝试，没有花哨的宣传，没有网红打卡点，只有就地取材的石墙和草原“庇护所“，以及提供露营所需的基础服务。来到这里露营的城市人，支起天幕，面朝辽阔的湖面和草原，不需要做什么，便已被自然疗愈。

Rural revitalization without the support of follow-up operation is unsustainable. The And Sheep campground on the northern shore of the lake is a small attempt by the operator. There is no fancy publicity, no internet celebrity check-in points, only local stone walls and grassland “shelters”, and basic services required for camping. City people who come here to camp, set up a canopy and face the vast lake and grassland. They have been healed by nature without doing anything.

未完待续
TO BE CONTINUED

生态林的落成和安之与羊的顺利运营为涝利海乡村振兴项目开启了第一篇章，南岸的民宿即将开业，乡建学院和湖心灯塔也即将竣工，公益林也会继续扩大。这是一个刚刚开启的故事，前途尚漫漫，然行之将至。感谢兴和县人民政府、中国乡村发展基金会、中国绿化基金会、现代汽车集团（中国）对草原公益项目的大力支持，感谢安之若宿作为运营方所做出的努力。

The completion of the ecological forest and the smooth operation of And Sheep have opened the first chapter of the Laoli Lake Rural Revitalization Project. The homestay on the south bank is about to open, the rural construction college and the lake center lighthouse are about to be completed, and the public welfare forest will continue to expand. This is a story that has just begun, and the future is coming. Thanks to Xinghe County People’s Government, China Rural Development Foundation, China Greening Foundation, and Hyundai Motor Group (China) for their strong support for the grassland public welfare project, and thanks to Annso for its efforts as the operator.
