Dariel & Arfeuillere – a Lime 388 Company announce the completion of four unique food and beverage experiences in Shanghai: The David Laris Concepts at Sinan Mansion.
The David Laris Concepts at Sinan Mansion are four different venues with inspirations spanning from the Mediterranean to Latin America: The Fat Olive, a Greek trattoria, Yucca, a Latin micro-lounge, 12 Chairs, a new premium dining and The Funky Chicken, a new venture in chic fast food bringing humor and fun to retail dining. The four projects are housed together in a prominent, traditionally-styled building in Shanghai’s French Concession.
The project was a challenge uniquely suited for Dariel & Arfeuillere: maintaining the unique identity of each concept demanded a flexibility not often found in designers. Dariel & Arfeuillere refuse to adhere to one style, rather they see themselves as curators selecting an eclectic mix of elements to create environments.
思南公馆四餐厅
Dariel & Arfeuillere—A Lime 388 Company 在上海宣布四个新的餐饮概念室内设计项目的完工：思南公馆 David Laris 概念餐厅。
思南公馆 David Laris 概念餐厅是四个不同风格的概念餐厅，灵感来源各异：从地中海到拉美风格：The Fat Olive, 希腊风格休闲小馆， Yucca, 拉美风格休闲小酒吧，12 Chairs, 一家新的高级餐厅及The Funky Chicken, 带来幽默风趣餐饮体验新餐厅。四家餐厅都坐落在优雅传统的老法租界的一栋洋房里。
对 Dariel & Arfeuillere来说本项目的挑战在于：保持每个餐厅的特色要求灵活性，而这种灵活性并不常见于所有的设计师。 Dariel & Arfeuillere 拒绝沿袭某种单调的风格，他们兼收并蓄，选择不同的元素混搭，来打造独特唯一的空间环境。
Yucca
Yucca, the new micro-lounge, occupies the building’s top two floors. Fashionably Latin, Yucca’s quirky yet chic and sleek interior design features a rich combination of shocking colors, spanish-style custom-made mosaics, vibrant and eclectic blues, textured ceiling and a big slab of marble as the main bar. Conceived as a modern Ibero-American lounge serving drinks and small plates, Yucca pays homage to the rich visual cultures of Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula and to its literature as well. The glowing glass-topped bar with the inscription “DESEO FUERZA AMOR LUJURIA” embodies the spirit of the space. “We imagined an exuberant place where one can go to be inspired, a place where your imagination can run free and you can be inspired by your friends,” Yucca’s crazy, modern Mexican feel conjures up thoughts of Salvador Dali, Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo. Religious undertones, tall candelabra, catholic crosses, elaborate flooring, paisley armchairs, iron gates, a sheer number of elements bringing a spirit of exuberance.
Yucca, David Laris 概念的休闲酒吧，占据着建筑的最高两层。强烈的色彩，西班牙传统风情的马赛克，醒目的不拘一格的蓝色调以及主吧台的巨大大理石块塑造了Yucca俏皮又时髦优雅的时尚拉丁风格。作为一家提供饮料和小食的伊比利亚－拉丁酒吧，Yucca向伊比利亚半岛和拉美丰富的视觉文化及文学致敬。大理石吧台上雕刻的名言“DESEO FUERZA AMOR LUJURIA”诠释了其精神。“我们想像一个可以寻找灵感的地方，想像力可以无限释放的地方，一个可以和朋友互相激发灵感的欢乐的地方。” Yucca 热烈 ，现代墨西哥感觉从 Salvador Dali, Diego Rivera 和 Frida Kahlo 那汲取灵感，其宗教基调，枝状大烛台，天主教十字架，精美的几何元素完美阐释了热烈丰富的拉丁精神。
The Fat Olive
The Fat Olive invites the feel of a Greek home. Inspired by rustic European market towns, Dariel & Arfeuillere went about designing a casual-chic space aimed at comfort and relaxation. “We wanted the place to feel like home and so we looked at materials and details that have texture and history.” Dariel & Arfeuillere achieved this feeling by carefully selecting each design element, from the flooring made of wood reclaimed from turn-of-the-century houses to the wall of European market-inspired cabinets detailed with miss-matched hardware. The predominance of earth-tone colors and copper gives to the venue a natural atmosphere while big plush bourgeois sofas in mauve add an eclectic, lived-in look.
The Fat Olive 融合了希腊家庭风格。由欧洲乡村市集激发灵感， Dariel & Arfeuillere 将其打造成放松舒适的场所。“我们想打造家的感觉因而我们选择了有质感和历史感的材料和细节”。 Dariel & Arfeuillere 通过选择设计元素达成了这种效果。木制地板强调了欧洲居家感觉，欧洲乡村市集中得到灵感启发的酒柜墙，长毛绒淡紫中产阶级情调沙发散发出中庸的生活气息。
12 Chairs
12 Chairs, is a new premium dining concept and an intimate space where private parties can choose from menus ranging from the elegant to the extravagant. This flexibility meant designing a room to reflect and be transformed by the food. The namesake 12 chairs surround a long saddle-stitched black leather table, and burnished silver metallic panels inset with bevel-edged copper mirrors line the walls. The table settings emphasize the mood of the meal, either through the elegant place settings or over-the-top centerpieces. The effect is of being inside a crystal glass and a world of one’s own choosing.
12 Chairs, 一家高级晚宴概念餐厅也适合举办私密派对聚会。菜单从优雅到奢侈随您选择。这样的灵活性需要设计一间能随时适应不同宴会风格的房间。12把椅子围绕着一张马鞍针法缝制的黑色皮质餐桌，嵌入了斜角铜镜的磨光银色金属板装点了墙面。 通过优雅的餐台布置或者通过非凡的餐台装饰来强调用餐气氛。客人像是置身在水晶杯中，置身在他／她自己选择的世界里。
The Funky Chicken
The Funky Chicken, brings chic humor to fast food roast chicken. Inspired by cartoons and wry wit, Dariel & Arfeuillere used a bold color palate and graphic architectural elements to create a fun, stimulating retail environment. Graffiti shouts ”what the cluck?” on one wall while the opposite one is stenciled with cartoon speech bubbles featuring an unexpected conversation between two chickens. The prominent red central seating counter spirals up and across the restaurant, evoking both elements of traditional Western farm architecture and flight.
The Funky Chicken带来了时髦的烤鸡快餐。由卡通和搞笑智慧激发灵感， Dariel & Arfeuillere 运用了大胆的色彩及出乎意料的建筑元素打造了一个有趣，刺激的零售环境。墙上的涂鸦写着：“乱叫个啥”另一面墙上则印着两只鸡不可思议的对话。正中的红色坐位台面围绕餐厅旋转而上，受到了传统西方农庄及飞机的启发。
This one building offers a whole day’s eating: Whether it’s lunch at The Funky Chicken, drinks at Yucca after dinner at The Fat Olive, or a banquet at 12 Chairs, these four concepts represent a new landmark for design and food in Shanghai.
你可以在这幢楼里吃一整天：无论是在 The Funky Chicken 里吃午餐 ，在 The Fat Olive吃过晚饭后去Yucca小酌抑或是在12 Chairs 里盛宴，这四个餐厅成为上海设计与餐饮的新地标。
About Dariel & Arfeuillère A Lime 388 Company
Thomas Dariel & Benoit Arfeuillere are the two founders and leading designers behind the Shanghai-based creative agency Lime 388. Originally educated as Designers in Paris, the two creators came to Shanghai in 2006 to open their studio and have since made it become a successful reality and a key player in the field of Design and creative services in China. Specialized in Interior Design for luxury private living (villas, lofts and apartments) creative offices and high-end hospitality projects (hotels, clubs, bars and restaurants), Dariel & Arfeuillere’s studio incorporates French Design expertise and Eastern cultural points of view. Talent, boldness, elegance, youthfulness, experience, innovation as well as an in-depth understanding of clients’ identity and expectations allow them to ensure the highest quality design.
The creators have collaborated with international luxury brands as Christofle, Hermès, and MHD. Dariel & Arfeuillere have worked on a number of projects, from luxury apartments to contemporary golf club. Since 2009, they collaborate with celebrated chef David Laris for the interior design creation of his new F&B concepts, a rich partnership that led them to design 12 new venues in Shanghai over the past 16 months. Among them The Funky chicken, a small-ish place that honors the chickens of the world, Yucca, an authentic Mexican venue, 12 chairs, a premium fine-dining concept, The Fat Olive, the well-known Greek wine and mezze bar, Purple Onion, a trendy Mediterranean trattoria, etc. The end of 2010 pays homage to the two creators who are awarded “Best Young Designers of the Year”.
2011 is a booming year with the achievement of large-scale projects. Among them a Shanghai downtown business hotel, a Spa on the Bund, the Johnnie Walker House in Sinan Mansions, a heritage luxury boutique hotel in the water city of Zhouzhuang and the Kartel Wine Bar and Lounge in the French Concession.
