Appreciation towards Philip Fung for providing the following description:

Un natural
With the great leap forward movement, on one hand we are destroying the nature, but on the other hand we are reproducing nature as complement to our disappearing experience. City and Nature are always fighting against each other.
Design through the mind and hand is an unnatural process. Designers change the nature of the material to meet the design intentions; this unnatural process reveals the inner value of the material.
City is the transition entity between natural and unnatural environment. But with the current social value, we get used to abstract or fake symbols rather than authentic nature, or nature itself being distorted.
Unnatural is a re-thinking process towards nature and the re-interpretation of material processing. 14 designers shall design according to their understandings towards nature. The products not necessarily respond to daily life, it could be visionary or experimental interventions.
Being simple, decent and experimental are our attitudes in this project; we are looking forward to new design possibilities by employing new technologies.
We believe: A simple life is the ultimate gift by our NATURE.

Collection of 80 nations displayed as densely packed islands, revealed one of the most powerful nations in the past and in the future, depended colonial colonies, both taking account its natural and unnatural resources that it created and accumulated by the 21st century.

Leafpond / Philip Fung
The Leafpond is symbolic of life attitude.
It is refreshing and inspiring when flowers are blooming or fish are wondering, therefore my design is simply several pieces of water pond, the overall shape is combination of leafs and each leaf is holding different size of pond. We may change the color and texture of the pond from time to time. People may fall into peacefulness by flowers, water, plants and wishes.

This work is intended to explore the possibility of artificial stone, try the best efforts to conform to the material, and show the natural beauty of it.What’s more, we do not limit the function of the installation, and it can be regarded as sculpture, chair, light, and so on.

The unnatural home is a set of unnatural structured grottoes (洞天), made of unnatural furniture, which is built upon on another, indicating an unreal space with light and shadow, depth and distance. The unnatural furniture was evolved based on typology – desk, chair, table, stool, couch, platform and panel. In the home culture of unnatural stones, stone furniture interacts intimately with human bodies. Yet the furniture also built up a 2*2*2 cube, where the minimum living space could be fitted. Eating, drinking, sleeping and lying are arranged in the unit living space, and ultimately an unnatural city grotto is created.

Guo Chuan Feng / Pebble Carpet
This is a design in between natural and un natural challenging our perception: a unify shape and different shapes of pebbles, the sharp edge and irregular shape of the pebbles, the hard nature of pebbles and soft feeling of the carpet. Using unnatural processing to make the natural object become ‘natural’ but yet also ‘unnatural’. With the pebble carpet, we will enjoy the nature within an unnatural interior environment.
Thin Shan Shui / Jianxiang He
Thin Shan Shui is an experiment on the possibility of the thinness of the two sorts of “stone” – natural and artificial, exploring their condition of existence between “form” and “formless” and thus expressing the materials’ poetry. The installation attempts to reconsider the material relationship of “lightness” and “heaviness”, as well as “softness” and “hardness”.
The artificial “stone”, a thin layer of translucent resin shaped to a wavy form, will float (hung by transparent wires) in the air, with spotlight on top to strengthen the variation of the thickness.
The natural stone artifact rises from the ground. It grows in the air with a controlled thickness to a shaped topographic segment of a hill form.
