Tineke Meirink is a Dutch illustrator for about 15 years now. She has illustrated lots of books, picture books, educational books and magazines for several publishers.

Mostly for young children. Her illustrations can also be seen on television (Sesamestreet).

For fun, to stay fresh and to be able to experiment she also does uncommissioned work. The project Stop:watch is an example of this. It is about taking a closer look.

To stop and watch. Tineke takes photos of apparently uninteresting items such as litter and bird-droppings and adds a minimal illustration digitally.

That way these photos get a whole different meaning, they come to life. She hopes it makes people realize that everything has its beauty and that it is just more fun to take a closer look.
