Marko Korošec是那么的爱极端天气。冬季风暴，夏季风暴，春季洪水都让他十分的激动。他在小学就购买了一些基本的气象仪器，打造出属于自己的气象站，开始学习恶劣天气的知识并探究，分析，追踪他们。他也成功了，他常常能够在恰当的时刻跑到现场拍摄出雷暴或者龙卷风最上镜的那些照片。风暴，就是他生命中不可分割的一部分。大自然，就是造就这些伟大时刻的源泉。

form the photographer : My name is Marko Korošec, I was born and raised in a small village Žirje in SW Slovenia. I graduated high school here and continued with my studies at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. Since my early age, I am interested in meteorology and photography. During my primary school classes I’ve already had some basic meteorological instruments for weather observation and so it all began to rise. Later on I purchased an automatic weather station to get more weather data and observations of my local region – named Karst. Through several years of mesurements and daily observations I managed to collect many interesting data about southwestern Slovenia and Karst region climatology.

My interests have been rising since then and I found the most exciting moments in extreme weather such as damaging winter storms, severe storms during summer, excessive rainfall events during spring, etc. I am studying severe weather events, researching them through forecasting, analysing and chasing all kind of such severe weather events. My main research areas of interest are mostly concentrated on research of mesoscale and convective dynamics, especially on severe storms with the forecasting initiation with triggering mechanism for deep moist convection on pre-existing airmass boundaries (e.g. drylines or other near-surface convergence boundaries) and the effect of rear-flank downdraft’s forcing on tornadogenesis in the supercell thunderstorms. With chasing such extreme events I am very much enjoying taking nature and weather photographs everytime I am out there observing weather phenomena and its majestys. My aim and challenge is to get the most photogenic moments out from the rough power of Mother Nature which is, despite known as dangerous weather, a beautiful show of weather dynamics. Nothing on this world impresses me more than a nicely structured supercell storms and as such, storm chasing has becamea large part of my life and I enjoy to learn something new everytime I am out there on the fields. Mother Nature is simply outstanding source of great moments! As in many other hobbies or works, thousands of hours dedicated to chasing and collecting experiences is the key for successwhich goes hand in hand with deep understanding of the meteorological background of storm systems, high-end experiences in weather forecasting and storm structure dynamics analysis, driving in dangerous weather conditions, etc.

I am very much enjoying taking photos when I am outside, could it be intentional photo trips or just normal trips. One will rarely see me without a camera in my hand, if not profesional equipment, it could be my phone. My photography fields mostly cover the weather photography while I am also enjoying photographing landscapes, sea scapes and night astro photography. I purchased my first photo camera back in year 1998. I started directly with single-lens reflex (SLR) camera, it was a Canon EOS 500N, a 35mm slide film camera. Since then I am shooting images with Canon cameras. I jumped into the digital world of cameras back in 2002 when I got digital camera Canon PowerShot A60, while I got more seriously envolved into DSLR cameras in spring 2005 when I purchased a Canon EOS 300D DSLR. It has to be said that I learned quite a lot on classic 35mm slide film camera. But with the digital nature of SLR cameras, it was like a changing world. Shooting hundreds of photos without being worried if I took too much of them, as shots are literally ‘free’. In the following years I switched into completely professional equipment to get the optimal results from my photo expeditions and chasing. I am often recording movies of extremeweather events and recording them on the video camera tapes was time wasting, so I use DSLR camera also for timelapse video recording. So I made my gear as optimal as possible for later production of photo or video material. I am always shooting in RAW format, it gives you the open space in post-processing of photographs. With DSLR movies much more space for fast post-processing and publishing is available, while on the other hand I often use both camera for shooting events. It becomes easier when one needs to shoot from wide angle to zoom shots, there the two Canon bodies are a big step forward. I am self-taught photographer since my first click on the camera’s trigger with a strong passion for creating photographs with all the dramatic moments and feelings experienced while chasing, no manipulation is made on my photo or videos. Sharing the photographs of my passion with the world was the reason to create an online website which you’re browsing right now. It shares my wide photo gallery, a blog with chasing logs, occasional weather analysis, cloud atlas and much more. For the reason of promotion and as a response to a wide public interest of my work, I am also selling prints, calendars, photo books or digital images for licensing.
