Bozka Rydlewska 是波兰华沙的艺术家和插画家，她的独具特色的作品总是与奇幻美妙的植物世界有关。从小喜爱立体书籍的她在完成新植物学插画系列后，决定为这个系列创作一套限量版的3D立体书籍，为大家带来复杂真是如同爱丽丝仙境般的三维场面。她采用1：1比例模型精细制作，连续工作3–4周，终于完成了这套作品。其中最复杂的一组耗时14小时。

I love pop-up books since childhood and it was always my dream to make one. When I finished my series of illustrations “New Botany” I thought it would be interesting to interpret the illustrations into three-dimensional forms. I started the project by reading several pop-up book manuals and attending a week-long pop-up book course at West Dean College, England.

It took me 3 to 4 weeks to make each pop-up. It was a complicated and time consuming process – I was working on 1:1 scale models, cutting and gluing over and over again until the pop-up matched the vision I had in my head. The final pieces were printed on high quality archival paper, cut out by cutting plotter and assembled by hand by myself. The assembly of the most complicated pop-up took 14 hours.
In this project I wanted to realize my fantasy of an unreal, surrealistic book that you can fall into like Alice in Wonderland falling into the tunnel…. so I was not so concerned about it being too complex for mass production. The “New Botany” book is a prototype in one copy, in the future I am planning to make 3 collector’s limited edition copies of it.

Bozka Rydlewska is an artist and illustrator from Warsaw, Poland.
Her unique style form subtle illustrations of the ornamental and oneiric kingdom of plants.
She has worked both on artistic projects like series of illustrations “New Botany”, “Haiku” or “Sea Poems” and commercial ones, including Empik, Kristoff porcelain and TVP Kultura. Her works have appeared in books “Atlas of Illustration” (Maomao, Barcelona), “Semi-permanent 2011” and Taschen’s “Illustration Now! 5”. She has taken part in many exhibitions in Poland and abroad including Flying Gallery in Warsaw, the 2013 Illustrative Festival in Berlin and in the I Never Read Art Book Fair in Basel.
In 2013 she was awarded the Scholarship of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
Bożka studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland and at Högskolan för Design och Konsthantverk in Goteborg, Sweden.
