Mother is an epic and poetic journey through a surreal world.It is a small tribute to modern architecture, isometric video gamesand sci-fi literature.

“我一年半前开始做这个项目。

起初，这是关于现代建筑的印制作品，但很快，我决定围绕我的建筑作品创造出一个完整的虚拟世界。我希望这些图形在尺寸和颜色的运用上都极致简单而抽象。图形参考了建筑平面图上的条状和方格图案元素，采用图解法而非技术/写实法进行诠释。开始所有建筑都采用了我钟爱的混凝土，但很快便发现混凝土在视觉上过于厚重。于是最终采用更为纯净而简单的单色风格，将小的建筑结构域大的超现实主义移动条纹结合起来。

该系列作品构成了一个寓意深远的小故事—一段可能会丢失自我的旅程，故事中的人物观看着周围的一切细小事物和发生的行为。我希望观看者能够受到短片的启发，用全新的眼光去看待这个有着自己逻辑和规则的现实世界。”

“I started this project a year and half ago as a side project.

At the beginning this was due to be a print series based on modern architecture but very soon I decided to create an entire world around the buildings that I created.

I wanted the graphic style to be minimalist in terms of volume and colour, with references to architectural floor-plans such as striped and chequered patterns, favouring a graphic approach over a technical/realistic one. Initially, all the buildings where supposed to be made out of concrete, which is one of my favourite materials as a designer, but I soon came to realize that it was visually too heavy.

I eventually ended up with a very pure and simple monochromatic style, mixing small architectural forms and giant surreal moving stripes.

I have created the story to be a journey you can lose yourself in, looking at all the tiny elements and actions. I wanted the viewer to be an observer of a world with it’s own logic and rules that exists beyond this short film.”
