ECAL硕士毕业的邓绮云是一个植物爱好者，当她遇到一次性餐具的课题时，她希望通过     材质来提升产品价值，于是她就在植物与餐具之间开展了神奇的“嫁接“。 通过大量的实验，终于做出来具备植物神形精髓，又超级实用还好看的餐具。希望能在市面上早日见到这系列清新有趣的餐具。更多精彩信息见下方文本。

Concept:

Graft is a series of disposable tableware made of PLA (Poly Lactic Acid), a bioplastic that derived from renewable resources and is degradable. To solve the environmental problems induced by disposable products, it is important to change the materials in use and change people’s attitude towards them. In this project I blend texture and color of fruits and vegetables into these tablewares so as to visualize their source materials, as well attaching a haptic sensation to the commonly cheap products and question our throwaway habit.

Development:

Texture and form in nature autonomously exists with a function that we can borrow to serve the purpose of artificial objects. A celery stem for example, acts as handle for the fork; a petal of artichoke then becomes the bowl of spoon. I also notice the significant difference between artifact and nature is that there is hardly a single color exists within a plant; the colors are always delicately transitioning. The quality of texture and color makes the object animate and touching.

Process:

Firstly I picked up vegetables and fruits with special tactile feature and reproduced their skins with resin to find each a proper application. The textures were carefully copied by various techniques to make sure they can perfectly merge with the 3d printed part. Then I consulted manufacturers specialized in bi-color injection moulding who promised the graduated color effect is feasible in mass-production. The prototypes were finished at school workshop by using two parts of polyurethane resin with different colors.

这是我今年在ECAL硕士的课程的毕业设计。2月底的时候我才进入课题，一开始只是自己选定要做一次性餐具，然后得出结论要通过材质来提升产品价值。当时并不知道怎么去选择材质，考虑过皮料等等高价值感的物料但没有办法说服自己。先从植物开始是个凑巧，因为正在春天，我又是个植物爱好者，而且这是最随手可得的材料，我就先拿石膏给各种蔬菜水果皮翻模，然后用聚氨酯树脂灌模出来，再接在一次性餐具的柄上，叉子上。这也是为什么最终题目叫做Graft，就是嫁接的意思。这么尝试完全是为了先给自己一个直观感受，因为要研究质感不可能通过画图和逻辑思考。这样几乎把当季的蔬菜水果能试的都试遍了，才选出来几组有意思的组合，这样的组合里面材料的形状和肌理正好跟物体本身的功能要求是一致的，例如说朝鲜蓟的花瓣大小真好和勺子相近，而且在某些文化里面他们本来就有拿这种植物当勺子。芹菜就比较直接，像个防滑的手柄，同样地在某些饮品装饰里面芹菜就是作为一个搅拌的棍子使用。与此同时我也做了很多调研，发现使用生物塑料是个理所当然的趋势，但市面上的产品却不如人意。因为塑料一直被认为是廉价的代名词，很少人去挖掘这种材料的美；生物塑料也是一样，他们将自己视为石油基底塑料的代替品，但成本居高很难推广。我的设计在这里正好就结合，用最终的质感去表达原材料，不需要解释它怎么来；并且通过半透明颜色和模拟现实的过渡色让产品有种超现实的效果。

为了保证翻出来的纹理和人造部分的完美融合，或者是要达到一些生产要求，例如可堆叠，必须要对称等等，制作过程有很多有趣的小技巧，都是一边跟模型室师傅琢磨一边自己从网络上挖掘出来的。最后几个产品是用硅胶模配合透明的树脂调色之后翻模出来的，要做到自然的颜色过渡也是失败了很多次才有一个成功的。

现在我正在寻找合适的生产商，希望真的可以把它推向市场。
