Bind Chair / KLÆR

KLÆR工作室创始人Jessy Van Durme希望设计一款结构简单，仅依靠编制技术和绑定技术组装完成，集坚固结构与美学造型为一身的椅子。最终成品仅白桦树胶合板与浅色天然皮革编带这两种材料。椅子的基本结构为4个组件，皮革带联系着其中的三者，并组成座面。绑定方式美观，恰到好处也是装饰。色彩温和清新，造型简练，造价经济。更多请至：KLÆR on gooood

‘For the design of the chair i was in search for an answer in the link between crafts, authenticity and the next context of materiali- izatioin.

Always considering a fair , simple construction and use of materials and a pure formality . This rattan technique was being resaerched, a simple inexpensive braiding technique that bears both structural and aesthetic properties.

By using this technique to a new materialization it gets a new context; particular plywood parts tied with leather strings. Upon distillation of the design , the construction of the chair came down to four elements in plywood tied together. Here the leather conforms the structural , aesthetic and comfort features . For the formality of the components in the multiplex strengths and weaknesses of the material were played, rounded edges and unnecessary material was removed. Just by these characteristics it form refers to the formality of the simple lines in scandi- navian design. With the materialization was deliberately chosen for materials that can tell a story as they are being used . Thus the white birch veneer and natural leathers were left untreated so they will absorb both the traces of the user and the light of the space. . This will in time give a patina and authenticity to the piece of furniture.’
