Huangshi National Mine Park was formerly known as Hanye Ping Coal Iron Factory Mine Co., Ltd. founded by Zhang Zhidong of Zhongqing, Qing Dynasty. Since 1875, it has been surveyed for iron ore. So far, it has accumulated a considerable number of geological exploration cores. In this case, the cores of mineral exploration in the past were combined, sliced and reorganized into novel landscaping elements such as paving, squares, sketches and installations. For the recycling of landscape resources, we will find a new path, let the cores that have been sleeping for more than a century of exploration and sampling, and convert their identity to the world in the form of regenerative landscape. The surveyed “core” is used as a landscape material to create a new landscape for sustainable recycling.
The case is creatively based on the geoscience-scientific meaning of finding iron deposits and taking the core from the deep part of the stratum as a landscape material.
