中国柳州被誉为「三江四合，抱城如壶」，而清澈碧绿的柳江贯穿着整个城市，它以弯弯曲曲的形态闻名遐迩。柳江两岸结集了一户户的大小人家，柳江在默默地连系着每一个人的同时，人们也在守护着这片南方净土，与大自然和谐共存。长而卷曲的柳江令人联想起胶卷，是制作电影的主要原素之一。除了两者形态相似外，电影亦是无分国界，能把人与人之间连系起来的媒体。有见及此，设计师采用了「江」的主题于这间位于柳州的影院里，把地方特色和电影原素结合起来，表现出人们之间奇妙的关联。
Liuzhou, China is located on the banks of the winding Liu River – this clear and green river is one of the main navigable rivers that runs through Liuzhou and is famous for its curved shape. The two sides of the Liu River have gathered many small and big families. While the Liu River has connected everyone together, the people are also guarding this piece of pure land in the south and coexisting harmoniously with the nature. The long and curly shape of the Liu River is reminiscent of film rolls, which is one of the main elements in movie-making. In addition to the similarities of the shapes between the two, film is also a media that can connect people together regardless of borders. This is the reason why the designers adopted the theme of ‘Liu River’ in this cinema in Liuzhou, combining local characteristics with film elements to show the wonderful connection between people.

影院大堂卷卷曲曲的波浪墙身，加上从天花而降的波浪卷曲造形设计，设计师捕捉河流自然弯曲的形态，并且流动的河水在阳光的照射下，波光粼粼，所以我们用了材料本身的颜色，以更加自然的方式呈现这一设计主题。波浪墙身和天花没有特定的规律，而是随意地布满整个大堂，让人感到无拘无束。
When one enters the cinema lobby, he can immediately see the breathtaking wavy walls descending from the ceiling – the designers have deliberately captured the natural curvy forms of the rivers. The running rivers reflected the sparkling glimmer of the sunshine. This is the reason why the designers have decided to leave the original colours of these natural materials so to correspond tightly with the theme. These curly design enriches the whole space. There are no specific rules with the wavy walls and ceilings design, so they decorate the lobby randomly which makes people feel free. In order to make the whole design more consistent, the logos on the wall are also designed with a rounded edge.

波浪墙身一直延伸至走廊，引领着观众走到影厅。为令整个感觉更加一致，墙身的标志更采用了圆边的字体设计。影厅之中墙身的造型通过贯穿整个空间的线条链接起来，就好像电影放映室，胶片迅速的转动起来，从而看到银幕上动态的画面，同时又结合的河流的弯曲和波光的反射，当观众醉心地欣赏电影的同时，设计亦不经意地把它们串连起来。

The wavy wall extends all the way to the corridor, leading the audience to the auditorium. At the same time, it also incorporates the concept of rivers. The blue wall and ceiling features imitate the shimmering spots on the surface of the water caused by reflection, which makes the audience feel like as if being surrounded by rivers. The patterns on the carpets are also in wavy shapes, as if transforming the lobby wall and ceiling into a huge floor plan. While the audience is fascinated by the movie, the designers also inadvertently connect the theme with the space.

连平常不为人注意的洗手间亦配合到影院的主题，我们设计定制了一款洗手盆，并且整个空间中所有对象都是以圆边设计，包括镜子和洗手盆，就连门柄也是，令整个灰白色的空间更加型格又不失亲切感。
Even the washrooms are also matched to the theme of the design. All objects are designed with rounded edges, including mirrors and wash basins, and even the door handles. These combinations make the entire gray and white space more stylish yet intimate.
