The new office of “Lane’s End Drugstore” Menswear brand is located in a creative park converted from an old steel-framed electromechanical factory – Hangzhou Binjiang Ju7 Creative Space. In the design of “Lane’s End Drugstore” Menswear brand, we have retained some of the original elements of the factory, but also incorporated our own rational thinking about the space and emotional discussion of the functions, and tailored the space design to the brand’s industry.

The large, open and bright spaces within this venue are perfect for creating an open, airy, well-lit and interconnected workspace. The design of the public space takes advantage of the height of the floors to create a two-story reading platform. The geometric interpolation between the walls not only increases the symbolism, but also enhances the visual focus of the space. Through the semi-enclosed form and the vertical scale of the three-dimensional space, the interaction between the first and second floors is created.

As a visual landing in a public space, the staircase can be interesting in addition to its functional relevance. It can be an installation, a furnishing, designed to create a light and airy open walkway through the matching between light-colored treads and stainless steel handrails, reducing the visual heaviness presented by large staircases. The gourd-shaped secret micro-landscape below the staircase, with green hills and mountain fog, relieves visual fatigue and becomes an imaginary zone for the shared release of the first and second floor spaces as a visual extension.

#1 办公区域 | Office area
The spatial design of the office area follows the rhythm of the building structure, allowing natural light from the outside to shine through the architectural structure of the inner window frames. The exposed load-bearing steel beams in the office area are the original structure of the building that has been preserved. The original color of the steel beams contrasts with the theme color of the space, and at the same time blurs the concept of time in the relationship between the old and the new.

#2 观影会议区 | Viewing and meeting area
The dark space with warm diffused lighting is used for creative communication and viewing, increasing the overall utilisation of the space combination. The contrast between the secluded scenes and the multiple bright spaces on the outside of the doors allows those in them to switch states quickly and have an overall immersive sense of immersion, allowing them to quickly adapt to the freedom to change between different spatial roles.

#3 户外茶楼/休闲区 | Recreation area
Liu Guan Zhang’s lion head hangs as decoration in the outdoor teahouse, bringing a relaxed, bouncy and casual experience to a strict and modern office space, leading the brand to overcome difficulties. The design of the outdoor teahouse and office relaxation area aims to provide a complete and adequate space for staff activities, integrating and improving team efficiency. Based on this concept, we have created a corner dedicated to social relaxation, allowing a rich diversity of design languages and expressions to be displayed in this light space, freeing the space from clear limits and allowing it to be truly free and open.

The lounge area is equipped with a set of sofas and a vertical display shelf. The structure is open on all sides and the partitions in the space are distributed in a regular pattern to create a light visual and reduce the sense of oppression caused by the large structural blocks. In addition, there is also a conversation area where you can have a cup of coffee after work and use another way of thinking to get the brand into the market. By “looking, smelling, asking and feeling”, the brand can discover its own problems, prescribe the right remedy, and constantly deliver solutions to the people, so that the brand can be more solidly based in the market.
