“环保”这一理念的诞生,并不是人们的心血来潮,而是面对资源枯竭这一问题的深度思考。由于天然原料资源的减少,我们必须开始比以往任何时候都更多地将废物视为一种新的资源,而不是产品生命的终结。建筑业,作为各类资源消耗的综合体。如今也开始尝试越来越多的环保材料。

The birth of the concept ‘environmental protection’ is not a whim, but a deep thinking on the problem of resource exhaustion. Due to the reduction of natural resources, we must regard waste as a new resource than ever before, rather than the end of product life. The construction industry, as a consumption complex of various resources, has started to try more and more environment-friendly materials.

 

 

01.回收塑料地砖
Plastic Stone Tiles

成长于德国的材料设计师Enis Akiev专注于被消费后的塑料垃圾。将塑料袋回收后按颜色将其进行分类。而后经过高温处理,待变形后再与天然岩石相结合,加工成一种拥有岩石性质的聚合物质。处理后的塑料呈现出不规则的形态,与石块融为一体,拥有独特的自然美感。这种新产品可用于室内。成品正在寻求建筑内部的应用。

Enis Akiev, a materials designer who grew up in Germany, focuses on consumed plastic waste .After recycling, She sorted these plastics by color. Then after high temperature processing, it is combined with natural rocks after deformation, resulted in a polymer material with rocky properties. The treated plastic presents an irregular shape, which is integrated with the stone and has a unique natural beauty. This new product can be applied in interior.

 

 

02.回收废旧金属釉料
Ignorance is Bliss

“Ignorance is Bliss”是这一可持续项目的名称,旨在将饮用水处理厂和土壤修复公司这些行业所产生的金属废料重新整合为有价值的新产品。

‘Ignorance is Bliss’ is the ongoing project about reincorporating value of metal waste from industries, such as water treatment plants and soil remediation companies into new valuable products and methods.

金属是不可再生资源,同时开采金属会影响空气、水质和生态环境。设计师在研究的过程中发现,废旧金属在着色方面的巨大潜力。金属废料呈污泥状,必须经过相应的干燥、研磨和筛选等制备过程方可用作颜料。令人惊奇的是,原材料的污染越严重,所得到的色泽越有生机。产品系列包括精美的陶瓷餐具、编织品、内墙瓷砖等。其颜色完全是从废料中回收来的。

Metals are a nonrenewable resource and metal mining affects air, water quality, and life forms. Desigrner experimented with various techniques to find the use of this waste product by conducting a broad-scale material research, which showed a great potential for the coloring properties. Metal waste comes in a shape of sludge and has to pass a process of preparation in order to use it as a pigment: drying, milling, and sieving accordingly. The collection consists of elegant porcelain tableware, woven textiles, and ceramic interior wall tiles, which are the representation of small and large-scale applications. The colors are retrieved purely by using just pigments from waste. In this project, surprisingly, the more contaminated the raw material, the more vibrant designed objects are.

 

 

03.再生地毯
Vlisco Recycled Carpets

这些地毯的原料来自于工厂堆积的库存以及残次品。如果找不到去处,这些织物最后的命运就是被销毁。面对这种不可避免的浪费,设计师Simone Post将这些废弃织物切成细条,通过再次加工组合成为一块充满生机的全新地毯。地毯的造型灵感来源于储存与运输纺织品大卷筒的剖面图。

The raw material of those carpets are leftover and rejected textile accumulated by the factory. If couldn’t find a way to treat them, these fabrics will be destroyed. With this inevitable waste, designer Simone Post cut them into thin strips, by re-processing and combination, a new carpet full of vitality is created. The shape of the carpet is inspired by the section drawing of the storage and large transportation textile rolls.

 

 

04.棕榈叶皮革
Palmleather

这种皮革是将自然掉落的棕榈叶收集后,浸泡在特殊的生物软化液中制成的。几天后,这种材料就会被永久地改变性质,变得柔软而灵活,可以在常规机器上进行加工。全过程天然可降解。

Palmleather is made by dipping the dry and brittle leave from the Arecae Betel Nut into a biological softening solution. After a few days the material turns permanently soft and flexible and shows great aesthetic quality. The material can be processed on conventional machines.

传统皮革,织物的生产制作会消耗大量的水,而这种棕榈叶皮革,每生产一平方米至多消耗20升水。成品可以用作地毯与墙体饰面。这种植物大规模地生长在印度,也给当地的妇女提供了大量的工作机会,帮助当地女性提高社会地位。

The production of traditional leather and fabric consumes a lot of water, but this leather only consumes up to 20 liters of water per square meter. The finished products can be used as carpets and wall coverings. This plant grows on a large scale in India, providing a large number of job opportunities for local women and helping them improve their social status.

 

 

05.气凝胶基石膏
Silica Aerogel

这是世界上最好的绝缘体,也是世界上最轻的固体。气凝胶因其酷感外观而被称为“冷冻烟雾”,它的绝缘性能是目前所使用的绝缘漆的两倍。它由约5%的二氧化硅组成,其余均为空气。能够直接覆在砖砌体上,由它保护的建筑可以变的更加宜居,还能保护古建筑的外观在维修工程中不被破坏。

This is the world’s best insulators, and lightest solid. Aerogel is referred to as ’frozen smoke’ for its cool appearance. Its insulating property is twice as much as the insulating paint currently used. Silica aerogel is composed of about 5% of silica. The rest of its component -air will make building more livable, and protect the surface of the ancient building from damaging in maintenance.

这种新型气凝胶基石膏来自于Empa,它具有良好的水蒸气渗透性,可以防止霉菌对墙体的侵袭。它的涂层导热率小于30mW/mk,被它保护的建筑犹如具有了隔温层,能有效减少的能量散失,可以节省不少电费以及燃气。无论是作为墙体保温材料,还是作为绝缘板,它在未来的建筑工程中一定会有广泛的应用。

This silica aerogel comes from Empa. It has good water vapor permeability,which can prevent the invasion of mold on the wall. Its  conductivity of coating is less than 30mW/mk, and the buildings protected by it are with thermal insulation layer, which can effectively reduce energy loss and save a lot of electricity and gas. It will be widely used in future construction projects as insulation materials.

 

在形形色色的新材料面前,环保意味着不浪费,意味着废物新生,也意味着节省更多的能源。建筑界的环保材料不再只是对人体无害,同时对于环境与社会责任也有着自己的贡献。

Environmental protection means no waste, regeneration of waste, and energy-saving. The new environment-friendly materials in the construction industry are not only harmless to human body, but also will greatly benefit our environment and society.
