Canice (pronounced Ca-niss) was a 6th century monk and founder of an early monastic site from which Kilkenny City grew. Architectural remains from this period are testament to a building approach which valued clarity and permanence.
CANICE Architects have an established record in conservation and the creative re-use of historically significant buildings and the design of contemporary architecture in sensitive locations.
CANICE Architects was formed by Damien Curry and Emily-Ann Curry in 2017. Our studio is located in the Irish medieval city of Kilkenny – famous for design, culture and the arts. The directors gained ten years experience working in London for award winning architecture studios on a number of Europe’s most exciting projects before establishing the practice. Areas of expertise include conservation, residential and public buildings, with a particular interest in the arts.
