Based in São Paulo, UNA barbara e valentim operates across different scales and programs, conceiving architecture as a tool for enhancing spatial quality and strengthening the relationships between building, city, and landscape. Founded by Fernanda Barbara and Fabio Valentim, the practice develops public and private projects throughout Brazil, with an emphasis on sustainable processes, constructive precision, and a commitment to collective experience.
Parallel work in academia for over two decades reinforces the studio’s investigative approach and its continuous dialogue between teaching and professional practice. The architects have participated in four editions of the Venice Architecture Biennale (2002, 2006, 2014, and 2018) while partners at Una Arquitetos, and their work has been widely published in books and leading international architecture magazines.
