The Demattè Fontana studio was born from the collaboration of Elena Fontana and Enrico Demattè, both architects at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio and with further training in spatial planning and landscape architecture, respectively, at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. After seven years of collaborating with other offices in Locarno and Zurich, they founded their own firm, geared toward the management of various medium and large-scale public projects.
The office is currently active in Zurich and Lugano. The firm focuses on design challenges with an interdisciplinary approach, drawing on the input of civil and environmental engineers, geologists, geographers, sociologists and economists.
