The Colombian Institute of architects is a non-governmental, professional and non-profit association, which aims to promote architecture and urban planning, cultivate the professional ethics of architects, and guide the relationship between architects and the state, Between the communities they serve and the architects. SCA is a national government advisory body approved by Decree No. 1782 of June 8, 1954, Decree No. 64 of 1978, Decree No. 2623 of 1995 and Decree No. 435 of 1998. Since its inception, SCA has been committed to building professional practice. Recent achievements include the recognition by the state of the differences and independence of engineering and construction activities, and the establishment of the national construction professional committee and its affiliated specialties; Decree No. 435 of 10 February 1998.
